I thought I’d start off simple…

Just kidding! I wouldn’t do that to you!

In fact, in this post I only really want to focus on the abdominal muscles (the body‘s core)…

Abdominals-or-Rectus-Abdomi

This is the most important muscle group in the body, the foundation for holding everything else together.

Most people would have you believe it only consists of this…

abs

As you can see in the first picture of the post, this is not true. I hope you are all ready for the truth!

I’m going to make a start at breaking it down simply (there is always more to say on this subject).

There are a few main muscle groups within the core, that you need to know:

And don’t forget:

These muscle groups enable you to hold yourself up, move yourself around and accomplish each day. As well as, protecting the internal organs and your spine.

… A pretty important muscle group if you ask me!

Doing core exercises is therefore VERY important.

Although, does your core routine just consist of this:

bas-ab-crunch1

Working your rectus abdominus muscles to oblivion, so you can barely straighten up to stand; with the end goal of a 4, 6, 8 or even 10 pack. Are you aware the ONLY way to achieve that goal is through a variety of fat burning, core and weight lifting exercises, combined with ULTIMATE nutrition.

To work your core for HEALTH, WELL-BEING and QUALITY OF LIFE you need to do more than just crunch yourself sore. It is less about the burn and more about the concentrated movements; your body needs to work around different planes of movements, using a range of exercises and techniques.

If you want to be truly fit and improve your body it’s time to try something new…

  1. Salaam 🙂

First time on your blog, and pretty interesting, I think it was the shoulder movements I can do at my desk that got me, started doing them while reading the post.

Do you have any advice on how to gain weight? I know it’s a bit off topic, figured there’s no harm in asking though.

Also, great blog, first of it’s kind I’d say
